Karen Reuter was born in Lübeck, Germany in 1976. She studied Electrical Engineering at Dresden University of Technology and specialized at the Institute of Acoustics and Speech Communication until bachelor level. Thereafter, she continued her studies in the Department of Acoustics, Aalborg University and received her M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering in January 2002.

Since March 2002 Karen Reuter is a PhD student at Aalborg University, financed by the William Demant Foundation (Oticon). She is part of the “Risk of hearing damage” research group and specializes in the measurement and clinical applications of otoacoustic emissions. Besides audiometric measurements her main interests are in psycho- and room acoustics.
