Karin Zimmer received her doctorate in Experimental Psychology, with a minor in Statistics, from Regensburg University, Germany, in 1998. After that, she held a post-doc position with the Graduate School in Psychoacoustics at the University of Oldenburg, Germany, as well as a faculty position at the Institute of Cognitive Sciences there. In 2001 she moved to Aalborg, Denmark, where she is currently working as a research associate professor with the newly established Sound Quality Research Unit.
Current research interests include the search for basic auditory attributes, the foundations of scaling, the over-all assessment of sound quality, and the concept of noise sensitivity.
Karin Zimmer has mainly taught in the areas of Human perception and Human learning, Design and analysis of psychological experiments, Psychophysics, Measurement, Scaling, and on the Construction and Evaluation of psychological tests.
