Emine Çelik was born in 1970 in Diyarbakir, Turkey. She received her Bachelor degree in architecture from Yildiz Technical University, Istanbul, Turkey in 1993. From 1993 to 1996 she was employed as an architect. In 1998 she obtained M.Sc. degree in acoustics at the Building Physics Department, Yildiz Technical University. At the end of 1999 she was employed as researcher at Yildiz Technical University for European Union project CAHRISMA that dealt with Conservation of the Acoustical Heritage. Since March 2002 she has been employed as a research assistant at the Department of Acoustics on the Research in Human Sound Perception, framework programme at Aalborg University, Denmark. In September 2002 she started a PhD on annoyance from noise.
