Quick and objective hearing diagnostic

Oto-acoustic emissions (OAEs) are weak sounds that can be recorded by microphones in the human ear canal. OAEs may occur either spontaneously or in response to external stimuli. OAEs reflect the state of hearing, but it is complicated to relate OAE characteristics to traditional audiograms. A promising method is the distortion product OAE, which ideally reflect the hearing ability for single frequencies. Glenis Long will present and discuss a novel, fast and efficient method, which provides frequency specific information about the state of hearing.

The guest lecture is organized in cooperation with IDA – The Danish Society of Engineers.
